Aspiration

Educator, Tech Professional, or Business Manager

I am Shia Fu Long, an 18-year-old Diploma in Business Studies student from Penang. While I'm studying business fundamentals now, my real interests lie at the intersection of education, technology, and management. I'm drawn to roles where I can either teach and develop others, work with technology to solve problems, or lead teams to achieve ambitious goals. I enjoy challenges that push me to think strategically and improve continuously.

People often see me as serious at first, but those who know me well describe me as ambitious, competitive, and fun to be around. I'm the type who gets energized when I find something that genuinely interests me—whether that's exploring new tech tools, gaming with strategy and problem-solving elements, or learning skills like coding, design, and photography. I'm still discovering which path fits me best, but I know I want a career that blends creativity, logic, and impact.

📌 About This e-Portfolio

This e-Portfolio was developed as part of the MPU2222 Personal Development course, which focuses on interpersonal skills, social etiquette, and professional growth. It brings together my reflections from Coursework 1 (Role Model Inquiry), Coursework 2 (Community Service Project at Crystal Family Home), and this final reflective synthesis into one structured, career-ready platform.

🎯 Purpose & Structure

The main purpose of this e-Portfolio is to document how I think, work with others, and handle real-world challenges, rather than just showing final results. It is organised into three main log entries:

  • Log Entry 1 – My Personal Baseline: Exploring my self-awareness, thinking and communication styles, and social etiquette using tools such as the Johari Window
  • Log Entry 2 – Human Dynamics: Applying conflict and relationship theories to our Crystal Family Home project, including how the team and I responded to unexpected changes
  • Log Entry 3 – Synthesis, Charter & Presentation: Integrating lessons into a Personal Interpersonal Charter and a video scenario demonstrating professional pressure handling

✨ What You Will Find

Finally, the My Professional Competencies page summarises the key skills I have developed across all three assignments—including analytical thinking, teamwork, communication, and digital professionalism—in a tone suitable for future employers or a LinkedIn profile. Together, these sections offer a transparent view of how I am learning to combine self-awareness, interpersonal dynamics, and ethical behaviour to prepare myself for future roles in business and community-oriented environments.

🚀 My Goals & Aspirations

Short-Term Goal

In the next 6–12 months, I aim to get strong results while actively improving my speaking and writing skills in English. I also want to build foundational skills in coding and design so I can start small projects and explore whether tech or education is the right long-term path for me.

Mid-Term Goal

After completing my diploma in 2 years, I plan to pursue a degree, ideally in a field that combines business, technology, or education. At the same time, I want to gain real work experience through internships or part-time roles, where I can apply what I've learned, build my professional network, and test different industries to find the best fit for my strengths and interests.

Long-Term Vision

In 5–10 years, I see myself in a role where I can lead, teach, or innovate—whether that's as a manager in a tech company, an educator helping others develop skills, or even running my own business or project. More than titles, I value financial freedom and work-life balance: I want to do work I'm proud of while still having time for personal growth, hobbies, and the people I care about. Ultimately, I want to be known as someone who is ambitious, reliable, and continuously improving.

"Be so good they can't ignore you."
